 10-pounder Parrott Bormann Time Fused
The fuzing of a Parrott projectile with the 5 1/4-second Bormann time fuze is highly unusual.  The burning time made this fuze inadequate for long-range rifled cannon.  Click here for a cross-sectional view.  Bormann-fuzed Parrott projectiles were manufactured in limited numbers.  Bormann fuzes are also found in Confederate 10-pounder smooth-sided Read-Parrott projectiles.
