 3-inch Read Shell Confederate Percussion Fuze
This specimen has a rare Confederate percussion fuze with a screwdriver slot.  Most of the specimens of this style were fitted with time fuze adapters either made of copper or wood.  Note that the lathe dog is still attached.  Usually the lathe dog was broken off the projectile before it left the arsenal.
