| This 2.5-inch Britten was used exclusively by the Confederates for their imported British Blakely rifled cannon. Note the six lands and grooves of the Blakely sawtooth rifling on the lead sabot. This pictured projectile was recovered from Manassas, Virginia. One shell is known to exist and has a sabot similar to the specimen pictured above. | ||||
