| This fired Archer projectile is similar to the variety as pictured here. but is missing the lead sabot. It has two small vertical flame grooves opposite each other on the un-tapered portion of the projectile body. Note the crude casting flaw in the center of the projectile body, typical of Confederate manufactured projectiles. All Archer projectiles of this variety have been recovered with a missing wooden fuze plug. | ||||
