This Absterdam Pattern I, Sub-pattern II, projectile has two bearing surfaces which is less common than Fig. III B-1. The authors have no knowledge of any Absterdam projectiles of this sub-pattern having been recovered from any Civil War battlefield. Most of the surviving examples of this sub-pattern are believed to have originated from the legendary Francis Bannerman's Military Surplus Store. The bottom of the sabot in this specimen is unmarked.
