Solid Parrott
The Parrott bolt was the solid shot of the Parrott system, sharing the expanding base sabot of the Parrott shell but cast solid for battering fortifications, ironclads, and materiel. Without a cavity or fuze, it worked by mass and velocity alone.
As with the other systems, the bolt and the shell of the Parrott line are distinct projectiles, and a surviving Parrott bolt is recognized as solid throughout, carrying the characteristic base sabot but no fuze seat.
