This is an example of a Federal Dyer projectile. Located in the
National Archives in Washington, D.C. , and in
The War of the Rebellion (Official
Records) is information that supports the conclusion that the projectile is of
Federal manufacture. Note the tinned surface between the iron base of the projectile and
the lead cup (sabot). Go
