 3-inch Dyer Shell Side-loader
The lead side-loader plug is 7/8" in diameter.  The lead sabot has four flame grooves.  There are no crossed straps on  the base of the sabot on this specimen.  Only a few side-loader Dyer projectiles are known to exist.  To see another example click here.
