This fired example of a Archer projectile is of the same variety as the projectile pictured here, but without the lead sabot. This shell was most likely manufactured at the Bellona Foundry, which was located 14 miles above Richmond, Virginia, and was adjacent to the Bellona Arsenal. The Bellona Arsenal served as a facility for assembly and repair of small-arms and other ordnance. The Arsenal also received and stored cannon produced by the Bellona Foundry.
